Garden Makeovers
Be proud to use and show off your garden - enjoy the great fresh air outdoors.
Step One: Assessment
- Survey the Space: Walk through your garden to assess what needs attention. Identify areas with clutter or overgrowth.
- Create Zones: Divide your garden into different zones (e.g., flower beds, seating areas, vegetable garden).
Step Two: Decluttering
- Clear Unwanted Items: Remove broken pots, old tools, unused furniture, or decor.
- Sort & Purge: Categorise garden items—keep, donate, recycle, or discard. Keep only functional and appealing pieces.
- Weed and Prune: Clear out weeds, dead plants, and overgrown shrubs to make space and reduce visual clutter.
Step Three: High Pressure Hose Clean
- Decks/Patios Cleaned: High pressure wash and treat with deck clean. Fix and stain if required
- Paths/ Driveways Brought Back to Life: Clean paths and remove moss to make safe, and revitalise existing features you already possess.
- Wash Down House: Most times a washed house looks like you have repainted it, and feels so fresh.
- Wash Outdoor Furniture: Give the furniture a bath and look like they want to be used again.

Step Four: Organise Tools and Supplies
- Create Storage Areas: Use sheds, storage bins, or tool racks to keep tools and supplies organised.
- Label Containers: Group seeds, fertilisers, and small garden tools in labelled containers.
- Hang Tools: Install hooks or pegboards for easy access to frequently used tools.
Step Five: Structure the Garden
- Plan the Layout: Organise plants based on their sunlight needs, size, and seasonal requirements.
- Pathways & Boundaries: Establish clear pathways using stepping stones or mulch. Define garden bed borders with edging materials.
- Functional Zones: Create distinct zones for planting, relaxation, and storage.
Step 6: Organise Plants and Beds
- Group Plants: Organise plants by category (flowers, herbs, vegetables) for easier care.
- Raised Beds or Containers: Use raised beds or pots to better define spaces and reduce clutter.
- Mulching: Apply mulch to keep garden beds neat, reduce weeds, and retain moisture.
Step 7: Add Functional Decor
- Minimalist Decor: Keep garden ornaments or furniture minimal and functional.
- Storage Solutions: Use benches with hidden storage for small tools or cushions.
- Lighting: Install solar-powered lights for pathways to keep things organised and functional in the evenings.

Step 8: Maintenance Plan
- Regular Cleaning: Schedule routine maintenance to remove dead plants, sweep paths, and tidy up.
- Check Tools: Ensure tools are cleaned and returned to their designated spots after use, they are only effective if they are maintained to do their duty.
- Seasonal Organising: Adjust plant layouts and storage seasonally to accommodate different needs.

Your garden is a haven for YOU time. An organised, and clutter-free garden is essential for mental health and well being.

An organised garden is more visually appealing and functional. It allows you to navigate the space easily, access plants for care, and enjoy the beauty of your outdoor sanctuary without distraction.

A garden should be useful, a place where family comes together - maybe an edible garden, a social area or simply an area to relax in the sun

We want you to love being outdoors!
